The Weeping Angels are genuinely scary and well-utilised for the first time in many, many years, and the sleepy English village is the perfect backdrop for a horror story like this.

Kevin McNally puts in the best supporting role of the entire era as the instantly loveable Professor Eustacius Jericho, and the pacing doesn’t let up for a second.
