Doctor Who: Flux - 15 Huge Details We Just Learned About Series 13
6. Mandip Gill And John Bishop Are Open To Continuing With Russell T Davies
Though the exits of Whittaker and Chibnall have already been confirmed, we still don't know whether Mandip Gill and John Bishop will be sticking around as the Fourteenth Doctor's companions under incoming showrunner Russell T Davies.
Your first thought might be "probably not", but interestingly, only half of NuWho's Doctor exits have also been companion exits: from Nine to Ten, Rose remained; from Ten to Eleven, Donna departed; from Eleven to Twelve, Clara remained; and from Twelve to Thirteen, Bill and Nardole departed.
In other words, it could go either way with Gill and Bishop, but because this is a showrunner switch as well as a Doctor switch, the safe money is on RTD starting with a clean slate.
Yaz and Dan's fates are probably being kept under wraps for spoiler reasons, but by the sounds of it, the actors themselves are open to continuing their Doctor Who runs even without Whittaker. Bishop told The Radio Times that "it's a conversation to be had", while Gill stated "never say never."
At the same time though, Gill did strongly hint that her time in the TARDIS is coming to an end, saying that "when I started, I didn’t realise how significant it was taking over from other people, but now it’s happening to me."
