Doctor Who Series 12: 10 Huge Questions After Orphan 55

2. Will The TARDIS Team Turn On The Doctor?

Spyfall introduced a new dynamic of the companions coming together to question the Doctor. They have each had their doubts and concerns of course, but we could be set for a bit of a rift in the ranks, if not a rebellion. They know that the Doctor is still keeping things about her background to herself, even if they might see it as something of a breakthrough that Graham finally got some answers.

What we do know, is that in the Master’s TARDIS (whose fate remains unclear) there are plenty of files on the Doctor, all part of his original plan in his O guise. It would be no surprise if Graham and co get hold of them at some point, or at least start some digging of their own. Quite what the Master intended when he offered to show them to Graham is unclear.

Ryan is understandably left with a very bad taste in his mouth after Bella and Kane are abandoned to fight the Dregs alone, and the companions may now continue to bond together apart from the Doctor. Yaz clearly has doubts about the Doctor's trustworthiness and asks her long she had know they were on Earth.

The scene where the TARDIS fam arrive at Tranquillity and leave the Doctor on her own is surely foreshadowing a split of some kind, especially as the Doctor emphasises she will have to explore “by myself”. Like when children reach a certain age of independence, the parent, in this case, the Doctor, is left behind.
