Doctor Who Series 13: 8 Leaked Details We Already Know

8. John Bishop Is Playing A Mystery Character

With each new series of Doctor Who comes a brand-new crop of guest stars, a trend that Series 13 will undoubtedly continue.

Across Jodie Whittaker's first two series, the likes of Lee Mack, Chris Noth, Mark Addy, Lenny Henry, Stephen Fry, Art Malik, and James Buckley all played supporting roles in various stories, and it looks like we've just got our first look at one of the guest stars we'll be seeing when Series 13 eventually hits our screens.

In a recent round of set photos snapped by curious fans, comedian John Bishop can be seen stood in the middle of an ordinary Welsh street, hands in his pockets.

In another photo taken at the same location, the Doctor and Yaz can be seen stepping out of the TARDIS, so this might be where Bishop's character first meets the Doctor.

While it's safe to assume that Bishop is merely a one-and-done guest star, there's also some speculation that he might become a more permanent companion, whether that's for three or four episodes, the entire series, or even into Series 14.

Going against this is the fact that he would probably end up being a similar type of character to Bradley Walsh's Graham (one of the companions Bishop would be replacing) in that he's an older gentleman who provides comedic relief.

Then again, Doctor Who consistently has young, contemporary females as companions, so this type of repetition might not be an issue.
