17. The Sontaran Stratagem In Full Effect

Sontaran ships! Lots of them, too.

Doctor Who fans will undoubtedly recognise the design of these vessels from the 2008 Tenth Doctor story The Sontaran Stratagem/The Poison Sky, the first appearance of the Sontarans in the modern era of the show.

Interestingly, the Sontaran ships in that trailer shot are clearly in the modern day, but as we'll get to later, the Sontarans themselves appear to be in the past.

Does this mean two Sontaran factions - one past, one future? The exact same Sontarans at multiple points in time, flitting back-and-forth between past and present? Who knows - but the possibilities are pretty exciting.
