4. We're Getting A Story Set In The Ancient World

"We€™re planning one right now which is very much an Ancient World episode, but I won€™t tell you which part of the Ancient World."
One of Doctor Who - and the BBC's - biggest successes is their ability to perfectly recreate ancient Earth settings for their stories. From Marco Polo and The Aztecs all the way through to The Fires Of Pompeii and The Pandorica Opens, the show thrives on its historical adventures. With Moffat talking about a story set in an ancient world, the possibilities are endless. The Doctor and his companion having a decent story in Ancient Egypt would be magnificent or fighting a demon in ancient Babylon? Done right - and on a bigger budget - could make for some stunning, exciting television. And if the companion came from that era all the better? Just imagining the Twelfth Doctor facing off against an Egyptian God is an exciting prospect.
