Doctor Who: Survivors Of The Flux Review - 6 Ups & 6 Downs
12. UP - Stuck In The Past
We’ll start off with the clear highlight of the episode: The Doctor’s companions had an absolute romp this week with their highly entertaining B plot.
Yaz, Dan, and the very welcome addition of Professor Jericho went full Indiana Jones in their globetrotting adventure in search of clues that pertained to the end of the world. They uncovered ancient secrets in a Mexican temple, dodged an assassination attempt in Constantinople and graffiti’d the Great Wall of China, but their most entertaining adventure of the week was their run in with a sassy hermit in Nepal - this man is a certified icon.
In all seriousness, this fun, gallivanting adventure bought some much needed levity to an episode that otherwise took itself very seriously, and once again took us to settings unexplored by the show. We’ve said it before, but it’s so refreshing to see that there’s more to Earth than London in this show.
Also, Jericho needs a spin-off. ASAP.
