Big Little Lies
While Fargo has some excellent individual performances, it's not as cohesive a whole as some of the other contenders here. The same can't be said of Big Little Lies, which blends its prestige talent with a satisfying mystery, strong direction, and entertaining melodrama along with its handling of some tougher subject matter as well.

The series is shaping up to be a real winner for HBO this year, and looks set to take the top prize for which it's eligible alongside a number of acting awards. As is so often the cast it's down to HBO vs FX, and more likely BLL vs Feud, and it's the latter that appears to have more love among voters going into the awards, especially as it's the biggest cultural hit of the bunch this year.
