8. She Is Azor Ahai / The Prince That Was Promised

Azor Ahai and The Prince That Was Promised are two fabled warriors who will come to save Westeros, although there is some debate as to whether they're actually the same person or not. Either way, Daenerys Targaryen is theorised to be at least one of them. There are a lot of similarities between the two, to the point they are used almost interchangably. Signs include being born amidst salt and smoke, a bleeding sky, and dragons waking from stone. 

The original prophecy used the Valyrian word for dragons, which means that it could be a female, and dragons certainly have a strong link to Daenerys. She was born on Dragonstone, near the Narrow Sea (salt), reborn as the Mother of Dragons on Khal Drogo's funeral pyre (smoke) hatched three dragons from their eggs (dragons from stone), and a red comet appeared in the sky (bleeding sky). 

Whether it's Azor Ahai, TPTWP, or both, there's plenty of evidence pointing to Daenerys being the legendary figure, although it's not actually clear whether or not they'll even appear in the first place, and there are a few other candidates as well.
