Game Of Thrones Cast: Where Are They Now?

A Christmas elf, a bodyguard and even Batman himself...

An overly ambitious and sweeping statement like 'Game of Thrones captivated audiences for the better part of the last decade' might make you aware of the aura that once surrounded the HBO series, but the truth is that it still couldn't encapsulate just how much of a pop-culture phenomenon it was.

You had to be there. Literally. Every Sunday night, so that you could watch along with the rest of the world and witness the phenomenon unfold.

A show that exploded onto the scene in a wall of flames that may as well have come from old Drogon himself, it maintained its god-like status until its final season when it fizzled out without so much as a spark. But we're not here to talk about the controversially flat Season 8, merely what came after it.

Have you ever wondered where the Mother of Dragons is now, if Jon Snow still knows nothing or how many times Sean Bean has died since Ned Stark took his final bow? Well then, sit back and enjoy the dragon ride as we catch up with the Game of Thrones cast and find our what they're all getting up to one year after the show came to an end.

25. Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke's performance as Daenerys Targaryen catapulted the relative newcomer into superstardom virtually overnight. Throughout the course of the show's run, she found herself becoming something of a Hollywood leading lady as she played Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys and headlined YA adaptation Me Before You.

Given that she played such a fan-favourite character, it shouldn't come as a surprise to learn that fans were miffed with the dreadful conclusion to Daenerys' arc, but the one silver lining in all of it was Clarke's incredible dramatic performance as she did everything short of bending over backwards in order make the unbelievable storyline seem that little bit believable. So hey, at least she went out with some of her finest material.

Since then, she has returned to the big screen; starring in the thriller Above Suspicion as well as headlining last year's holiday film Last Christmas, and she's also set to star in Let Me Count The Ways as real-life poet Elizabeth Barrett. Moreover, she is set to make her West End debut sometime in the future when she stars in in Anton Chekov's The Seagull (which was ultimately delayed due to everything going on in the world right now).

Aside from that, she also launched her own charity SameYou which aims to assist young people with neurorehabilitation following a brain injury or stroke.
