Game Of Thrones Season 7: 10 Big Questions After 'Eastwatch'
10. Will Littlefinger's Plan Work?
Petyr Baelish has spent most of the season looking like a spent force: Sansa has called him out, Bran gave him that 'I know what you did last summer' line, and Arya arrived back and immediately became a big threat to his life.
But you should never count Littlefinger out completely, and he comes back into the game in Eastwatch. The messer becomes the messee, as Arya gets setup into reading the message Sansa wrote back in Season 1, telling Robb to bend the knee.
The point is to create a big division between Arya and Sansa, and sufficiently weaken the latter's position for him to regain control of the situation, and he's played it perfectly so far - but will it ultimately work?
As this episode reminds us, there's plenty of tension between the Stark sisters already, so it's not a stretch to imagine it exacerbating after this. On the flip side, though, they are still sisters, and we have that line from Sansa in the Season 7 trailer: "The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives." That feels like the key here, and ultimately why it seems Littlefinger will fail.
