18. Melisandre

Melisandre is a difficult character to figure out in Season 7. We know she's back at Dragonstone, but will Daenerys want anything to do with her? And what will Jon and Davos think when they turn up and find her there?

She is an expendable character, and yet the Red Woman remains one of the series' most mysteries among the big players. We don't know the full extent of her power, nor much about the Lord of Light and how those things could factor into a war against the White Walkers. For that reason, she might be worth keeping around until Season 8.

Prediction: Probably lives, but could be killed off without changing things too much
