Game Of Thrones Season 8: 8 Huge Questions 'The Bells' Leaves Behind
3. What's Dany's Endpoint?
Daenerys Targaryen has gone full 'Mad Queen', turning the Battle of King's Landing into a flaming pit of death and destruction, with no thought given to the many innocent lives she was claiming in the process.
It's a huge gear-shift for the character, and signals her ending in one way or another. So what will that endpoint be? Is Daenerys destined to go down in a blaze of fire and blood, doing all she can to take and keep the Iron Throne that she believes to be her destiny? Or will there be a quieter, more intimate ending in store?
Daenerys story, ultimately, should be shaped more by tragedy than 'madness' or 'evil', and it'll be interesting to see how much of each they give her story in the end. Is there any way she comes back from this? Probably not to live, but perhaps so that her final act isn't genocide, but something more self-aware and perhaps even selfless?
