MCU: 10 Big Questions Surrounding Marvel's Disney+ Shows

4. Why Is Hawkeye Training Kate Bishop And Not His Daughter?

Passing the Hawkeye mantle onto someone else won't be the first time Clint tries to get out of the game, and in Kate Bishop he has found a better version of himself according to Jeremy Renner. But who is Kate Bishop, and what is she to Barton?

In Age of Ultron it was revealed that Hawkeye had a family he kept in secret to keep them safe, but Miss Bishop was nowhere to be seen. In this same movie we see Clint form a connection with Wanda, a complete stranger to him at the time, so a similar thing may happen with Kate. In the comics the Avengers save her from a hostage situation, resulting in her admiration of the team, Hawkeye in particular, due to his relatable lack of powers.

Yet, in the very first scene of Avengers Endgame, we see the master marksman teaching his craft to his daughter, Lila, before she disappears along with half the universe. So what makes the Avenger move from teaching Lila to teaching Kate? It could be that he wants to keep Lila safe from any dangers out in the world, but if he forms such a connection with Kate, wouldn't he want the same thing for her?
