With the film having gained a cult following since its 2001 debut, and a number of its cast going on to become A-listers, it was an easy win when Netflix made prequel series First Day of Camp.
The likes of Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, and Paul Rudd were all back, which undoubtedly helped propel the series to being binged so fast, but it also helped that it was - for the most part - a worthy follow-up/predecessor, and the same goes for the subsequent sequel 10 Years Later.

It appealed to fans of the original, offering up the same sort of goofball comedy, and made for easy viewing, although it didn't do much to bring in anyone who didn't like the movie.
