3. A Few Too Many Conveniences

Every piece of drama requires obstacles for the characters to overcome. That's what makes it drama.

And yet, it does feel like Hollywood relies a little too heavily on obstacles that just conveniently happen to raise their heads at the most inopportune moment.

Now, far be it for this writer to criticise something when it could very easily happen in real life, but when these conveniences begin recurring at exactly the right (or should that be the 'wrong') time, then it's hard not to wonder if it's becoming a little contrived.

Not enough to throw your enjoyment off, but enough to at least make you question it.
