When accused of showing leniency to Sherlock, Mycroft tells a colleague: Im not given to outbursts of brotherly compassion. You know what happened to the other one
That's right, Mycroft and Sherlock have another brother! Well, maybe that should be had another brother as Mycrofts tone is a little sinister. Could the two other Holmes boys have bumped their brother off?
Naturally, this is a nod to the wider world of Sherlock Holmes. Fans theorise that Sherlock and Mycroft must have had an eldest brother named Sherrinford (Doyles original name for Sherlock) who would have taken care of the familys estate while the other two lived in London. Are we about to see Sherrinford turn up in Sherlock? Hurry up, series four!
