In this epic, one-and-a-half minute long couch gag, we see the evolution of Homer Simpson; from a single-celled organism, through to a jellyfish, fish, reptile, dinosaur and later a rodent, Homer evades a series of perilous situations, including nearly being eaten, until he evolves into a primate and eventually the Homer we all know and love, passing Moe along the way, who hilariously 'devolves'. One of the most thought-provoking gags on the Simpsons, the comedy is complete when Homer returns home and is asked by Marge: "What took you so long?"
