77. Starfleet Combat Gear - 2373

This combat gear was first shown on-screen in ...Nor The Battle To The Strong, the fifth season episode of Deep Space Nine depicting the Battle of Ajilon Prime. A Starfleet soldier, played by Danny Goldring, was discovered by Jake Sisko in his final moments.

The uniform was clearly designed to give the wearer additional protection from hand-to-hand combat, though judging by the burns and melted material on the bodice, it is unclear how effective it was against phaser and disruptor fire.

A later variant was seen in use during The Siege Of AR-558, where it similarly failed to protect Vargas.
