Star Trek: Every Starfleet Uniform Ranked From WORST To BEST
75. Starfleet Uniform - 3189
For the Starfleet uniforms in the late-32nd Century, costume designer Gersha Phillips decided that they would be part-3D printed to give them a more 'techy' look, as per her interview on The Ready Room with Wil Wheaton.
Some parts of these uniforms were specifically moulded to the wearer. The tricombadge, introduced early in Star Trek: Discovery's third season, sat on the left breast, while rank insignia were moved to the front of the collar.
Captains wore shoulder epaulets that ran from front to back, rather than shoulder to collar. A division colour stripe also ran from the shoulder to the hem on the right side of the jacket.
There was a separate, distinct Starfleet security uniform. It didn't bear a division colour option, instead featuring a quilted section surrounding the shoulders.
