Stargate: 10 Times The Show Made Huge Mistakes
10. First Prime Gold
The First Prime is the leader of the Jaffa armies of each individual Goa'uld tyrant. While all Jaffa warriors (and priests) have the respective Goa'uld symbols tattooed onto their foreheads, only the First Prime of each Lord has the cymbol embalzoned in gold on their forehead. As Teal'c later describes it, the process includes carving the symbol into the flesh before pouring molten gold into the wound.
No thank you.
In Children of the Gods, Apophis arrives in the SGC with a small force of Jaffa. Teal'c is already with him and his forehead is very definitely shiny and gold. So, it is a little surprising when later on, Jack O'Neill is shown the body of a fallen Jaffa....with the Golden symbol.
While this is easily explained behind the scenes - the producers simply hadn't settled on this rule yet! On-screen, perhaps it could be explained as some of kind of job-sharing scheme? If that's the case, Teal'c should be happy he defected, because that's an entire tonne of work he probably just didn't really want!
