The Flashs first season ended with a very atypical finale. He stopped the Reverse-Flash in the penultimate episode and instead the finale focused on trying to go back in time and wrestling with a huge emotional decision. It was somewhat strange but it absolutely worked. For Season 2, however, there is no emotional through-line that matches the sorrow of the death of Barry's mother. Sure, theyre all feeling betrayed by Jay, but in no way is the sentiment important enough to anchor an entire emotional climax around. As such, a slightly more traditional finale may be in order. Barrys final battle with Reverse-Flash was fine, if unspectacular, and the fact that he had to call in help, though practical, made it feel like less of an accomplishment. With the emotional stakes a little lower in this case, the finale should be set around a budget-busting, all-out speed brawl between the hero and villain. The Flash has always done cool set pieces but they could really make the finale one to remember with a single great fight scene.
