9. Ensure There€™s A Cost To Stopping Zoom

Of course, massive fight scene or not, Zoom is a formidable opponent, and he won€™t be taken down easily. So whether Team Flash manages to subdue him, kill him, or simply allow him to succumb to his sickness, there needs to be a cost for them doing so. He€™s simply too powerful for it to be believable that every single one of them would escape scot free. That doesn€™t necessarily mean a lead character has to die like Eddie did to stop Thawne, although that trick would certainly work again. In this case, Wells might seem the most logical choice, although the show seems reluctant to let Tom Cavanagh go. An alternate way of looking at this may be for them to sacrifice some intangible part of themselves to end Zoom's threat. For instance, what if Barry is forced to kill Zoom in order to stop him? Given no other choice, it would fascinating to see if Barry would give up part of his humanity and bear that burden to keep other people safe. Likewise, he's shown a willingness to try Velocity-9, even if it means harming himself to get faster. These are the kind of harrowing stakes that need to accompany stopping such a massive threat.
