The Flash Season 3: 7 Easter Eggs & References You Might've Missed In 'Paradox'
2. Julian Albert = Albert Desmond?
This week also saw the Flash debut of Tom Felton (most known for playing Draco Malfoy). Surprisingly, there was no Harry Potter reference. Then again, Cisco - the usual purveyor of geeky references - wasn’t on top form this episode so maybe that is being saved for next week.
Felton is playing Julian Albert, a metahuman CSI expert at CCPD who has an unnatural dislike for Barry. Right now, he appears to be an original character for the show but that might not actually be the case. Warning: don't read on if you want to avoid potential spoilers.
Elsewhere in the episode, we also get a proper look at Doctor Alchemy, he of the seemingly endless magical powers. At one point, he seems to be holding a stone that shoots forth beams of light. This is presumably the Philosopher’s Stone, an item in his possession in the comics. Speaking of the source material, the original incarnation of Alchemy was really a scientist called Albert Desmond.
Seeing as Felton’s character also has Albert in his name – and the Philosopher’s Stone would make for a fun link with Harry Potter – I would bet good money on the character turning out to be the supervillain.
