7. Outpost Saviors

The Episode: Not Tomorrow Yet

How It Happened: After making a deal with the Hilltop to take care of the Saviors, Rick and the gang attacked an outpost, gravely mistaking it for their home base. After demonstrating some efficient teamwork by killing and hiding the body of a guard stationed outside before his partner could return, the group proceeded to infiltrate the outpost, slaughtering Saviors in their sleep and gunning down everyone else.

Why It's On This List: By this point in the season - and the show, for that matter - the group was feeling unbeatable. They'd managed to overcome the Wolves, the massive walker horde, and the earlier band of motorcycle-riding Saviors, so this seemed hardly a challenge for them. In racking up such a huge bodycount, no one held back, and the whole event led to some great individual character moments, such as Glenn taking his first life so that Heath wouldn't have to and Father Gabriel reciting Scripture before executing a Savior. It's a huge turning point for the characters and the story, and the karmic consequences of such a huge slaughter came back to bite the group in a big way.
