Perhaps more than any other living character in Twin Peaks, Shelly has the most heartbreaking backstory. She quit high school due to her relationship with Leo Johnson, and things quickly took a turn for the worst. He became abusive, paranoid, and rarely let her out of the house. To escape, she took in local bad boy Bobby Briggs, and things also have been pretty rocky for her. Every time it seems like things are looking up for Shelley, something goes terribly wrong. While she does have her selfish moments (refusing to testify against Leo in hopes of getting money), her heart is pure. Moving forward 25 years there are still some unanswered questions. Is she still with Bobby? Or did she decide to shack up with the very audible Gordon Cole? Does she still work at the diner with Norma? And did her husband Leo somehow escape that tarantula trap? No matter what, actress Madchen Amick is still a knockout these days, and hopefully is ready to cook up some more cherry pie with a side of coffee in 2016.
