Twin Peaks: 10 Characters That Must Return For Season 3

By Andrew Soucek /

4. Sheriff Harry Truman

In a town like Twin Peaks, where most of the characters range from eccentric to insane, you need a few normal residents to keep things grounded. Sheriff Harry Truman, who shared the same name as the 33rd President of the United States, was about as sane as sane gets in that town. Throughout the show, he€™s also one of the few characters who never had ulterior motives. He€™s a genuinely good person, whose strange, but touching friendship with Dale Cooper is one of the show€™s highlights. At 68-years-old, it€™s doubtful that Harry is still the sheriff of Twin Peaks. However, this is also the same town that voted for a senile 80-plus-year-old man for mayor. According to Michael Horse who played Deputy Hawk, Ontkean will be back to reprise his role. Let€™s hope that€™s true, as Twin Peaks would have a harder time maintaining law and order without him. Actor Michael Ontkean's last big role was in The Descendants, which sounds impressive, but he didn't get to say a single word of dialogue! Hopefully Sheriff Truman has a few things to say about the state of Twin Peaks in 2016. And let's also hope he was able to pull Josie out of the woodwork at The Great Northern.
