10 Awesome WWE PPV Names That Should Return

By Matt Davis /

3. Halloween Havoc

One of the greatest event names in WCW history, Halloween Havoc was a yearly event that took place every October and was home to some of the biggest matches of the year for the Atlanta-based wrestling promotion. In addition to the show's name, the staging and set design of Halloween Havoc was one of the company's best efforts every year and it really gave the event a unique feel that no other PPV could reproduce, another sign of a strong PPV brand. WWE has attempted, on more than once occasion, to obtain the rights to the Halloween Havoc name but with no success. Apparently, not all of the assets owned by WCW transferred over to WWE automatically when Vince McMahon purchased the company in 2001 and the Halloween Havoc name was one of them. WWE have the rights to the previous events and can air them on the WWE Network, but they do not have the ability to promote new events using that name. They are, however, actively trying to change that according to sources. It's unfortunate because it was one of the better PPV names around and WWE has been trying to replicate that by creating spooky, Halloween-influenced theme for their October PPV for years now. They're never as good as the original and WWE knows it. Why else would they continue to go after the trademark? So while this is a PPV name that should definitely be brought back, unlike many other entries on this list it's not within the WWE's control right now. Perhaps one day we will see a WWE-presented Halloween Havoc, but for now it will remain a wrestling fan's dream.
