4. Fans Wish Raw GM Had Stayed Anonymous

During the Summer months of 2010, right through the Winter and into 2011, the Anonymous Raw General Manager character was treated like a focal point on WWE television. Not an episode of Monday Night Raw would go by without Michael Cole saying to fans, "Can I have your attention, please?", before reading out the mantra from this unidentified authority figure. Suddenly, the angle was dropped in the Summer of 2011, with next to no explanation as to why. Fans had been expecting something major as pay-off - after all, a year is a pretty long time in modern wrestling, so it seemed only natural that WWE would use the story to debut some new wrestler they had high hopes for, or kick start a hot feud which could make some money.Instead, the nameless GM schtick was wheeled out randomly in July, 2012, and it was revealed that none other than Hornswoggle was the man behind the curious emails which had previously been flooding the promotion's flagship show. Needless to say, this was a terrible end to things, and people reacted accordingly, with extreme apathy. The angle has since been re-aired, making another appearance in November, 2014.
