2. Kurt Angle Doesn't Even Know He's Lost (Tazz, Royal Rumble 2000)

Kurt Angle's WWF run was only a few months old by the time the 2000 Royal Rumble rolled around, but his match was designed to showcase someone else. Incoming from ECW, Tazz was the focal point, and he was booked to end Angle's undefeated streak in the most controversial fashion possible.

After a bevvy of suplexes that made Kurt look like he'd been shot from a cannon, Tazz locked on his trademark Tazzmission hold. From behind the announce desk, Jerry Lawler screamed out that it was a choke, but the referee decreed that Angle had passed out from the pain and Tazz was deemed the winner.

Following a short celebration, Tazz departed, leaving Angle alone in the ring. Paramedics rushed to the scene, giving the Olympian oxygen and carting him out on a stretcher. The controversy discussed on commentary revolved around whether or not Tazz had choked Angle out.

Later, Kurt himself claimed that he hadn't submitted and was still undefeated. In the aftermath of the match, he didn't even know what had happened; it was perfectly executed.
