10 Best WCW Video Games

1. WCW/nWo Revenge

Ah, now this is where it's at. WCW/nWo Revenge completely overhauls the system first seen by Western gamers in WCW vs. The World, and improves it in every conceivable way. The best-selling wrestling game for the N64, Revenge is a true masterpiece, and is for WCW what No Mercy was to the WWF. It's scary to think that WCW Nitro would be released for the console after Revenge, as the latter is definitely the best WCW videogame ever made. Actual WCW TV and Pay-Per-View arenas were modeled, which was mind-blowing for the time, and it's fair to say there were a lot of happy wrestling fans playing this on Christmas Day in 1998. Ring entrances are included, and better yet, one of the most robust rosters in wrestling game history is seen here. It's even possible to tweak each wrestler's costume, which excuses the lack of any create-a-wrestler modes. Again, there isn't much of a story of career mode, but a title mode keeps things ticking along nicely, and storylines weren't really the focus of wrestling games in the 90's. Overall, WCW/nWo Revenge is the best game based on World Championship Wrestling, and still one of the most must-play grappling games around. Absolutely everybody should check this one out.
