10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Payback 2020

3. The Fiend Could Get Speared Into Oblivion (Again)

Your writer was overcome with feelings of joy when the mangled monster that is 'The Fiend' won the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. It could have something to do with the fact that Bray Wyatt's more-twisted alter-ego deserves the gold but, if we're being completely honest, it was down to the fact that Wyatt - the genius that he is - was able to salvage a glorious gimmick that WWE very nearly destroyed.

The mask-wearing menace was enjoying a mostly successful Universal Title reign at the beginning of this year until the most baffling booking in recent memory (and that's saying a lot) saw Goldberg swiftly defeat him and take that belt from him.

Doomed by dreadful decision-making, it seemed 'The Fiend' was destined to go the way of the old Bray Wyatt and have his wonderful supernatural aura undercut by a loss to an overpowered hero from another era. And yet, somehow, someway, he found his way back to the Universal Title picture and reclaimed what was rightfully his.

Roman Reigns spearing him into oblivion moments after his win gave a lot of us a horrible feeling of déjà vu, as if it were a sign that history was about to repeat itself.

All that hard work Wyatt did could be undone if he loses the gold too soon - especially if it's to another superstar who just speared his way into a storyline that had nothing to do with him.
