10 Biggest Breakout Stars Of WWE's Brand Extension
8. Neville
All hail The King of the Cruiserweights!
Neville's heel turn this past December at Roadblock: End of the Line breathed fresh air into a performer who has always been extremely talented between the ropes but was in need of character development if he was ever to be a featured star on WWE's flagship show, Raw.
Frustrated by the lack of opportunity and perceived disrespect over his absence from the Cruiserweight Classic fueled the seething Superstar to the top of the division. He quickly defeated Rich Swann to win the Cruiserweight title and proceeded to successfully defend it against the likes of TJP, Jack Gallagher and Tony Nese. A series against Austin Aries brought credibility to the title it had been sorely lacking.
Neville has been portrayed so dominantly the company is struggling to find a worthy competitor who can believably defeat him. A lack of credible challengers in the division has The King of the Cruiserweights sitting atop a roster in desperate need of an injection of competition.
So strong have his performances been that he has overcome WWE Creative's inability to create convincing stories and characters.
One of the more engaging personalities on Monday nights, he has become a cornerstone of the Raw brand and one of the more convincing champions on the entire WWE roster.
