10 Biggest Heat Moments From WWE’s Most Popular Wrestlers
4. CM Punk Mocks King
CM Punk spent the lion's share of his WWE tenure - including the 434 days he held the WWE Championship from 2011 to 2013 - acting like a heel, but that didn't discourage fans from cheering him (and neither, to the chagrin of some, did his departure in 2014). It's obvious that Punk was, at least some of the time, tasked with going out and getting the crowd on side - why else position him as the antagonist of Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Kevin Nash of all people?
The point is: mostly, Punk was cheered - but not always. Not when he, with the help of Paul Heyman, mocked Jerry 'The King' Lawler's legit heart attack on an episode of Monday Night Raw in 2012. That was a bridge too far - even for the fans who egged his heel-run on every step of the way.
