Anyone who has the WWE Network can take a look back at WCW Halloween Havoc 1996 and if you do, you'll see an example at the close of that show where a little scripting could have come in handy. The PPV ended with Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper bickering on the microphones with absolutely zero sense of direction. With no script. In 2015, WWE is at the total opposite end of that spectrum. EVERYTHING is scripted. Down to the single lines that are spoken. This, in of itself, isn't necessarily a bad thing but becomes a bad thing when WWE employs perhaps the worst writing team on American television. A fine example is John Cena's absurd 'take the WWE Title and go home' spiel from this past Monday on Raw. Whilst Hogan and Piper were all over the place, at least they spoke with honesty and passion. Whilst Austin and Bret Hart's promos in 1997 were risky, they spoke with genuine emotion. People are attracted to genuine emotion. The atrocious scripts written by these rubbish writers are draining the emotion out of WWE's promos. They need to go. The wrestlers need to be given the chance to speak from their heart again and remind fans why we should believe in these men and women in the ring.
