10 Biggest Surprises Of Triple H's WWE So Far
5. The Judgment Day Are Good Now?
Who saw this coming?
Hands up, this writer wrote an article about a month ago placing the entire Judgment Day as the number one act that needed to revert back to their prior gimmicks. I'm happy to eat my words.
After needlessly booting Edge from the stable and placing Finn Balor - who the Judgment Day had just beaten at Hell in a Cell - as the leader made little to no sense, and it seemed like a rush job to reinstall Edge as a babyface in the wake of Cody Rhodes' unfortunate injury. The much maligned stable became a laughing stock and it looked like it was going to crash and burn.
But since then, Triple H has pivoted the Judgment Day away from spooky goth stuff into a group of antagonistic A-holes, and it's worked. It's really, really worked. There's no denying that Balor, Priest and Ripley can go, and they have clicked as a unit. The drama with the Mysterios, whilst way over the top, has drawn phenomenal heat for Dominik Mysterio, who finally has a use in the company.
Reports suggest that Balor is due for a major push on RAW, which right now, would just be riding a wave of momentum that this group has someone been able to snatch from the jaws of defeat. Credit to The Game for steering this ship in a different direction, because Judgment Day are now... well, they're pretty good.
