4. Titles Mean Something Again

This has been quick and it has been effective.

For far too long, the championships in WWE have been nothing more than props. There are too many of them, and beyond the ones draped over Roman Reigns' broad shoulders, they didn't mean much. Champions would lose non-title bouts. Defences would rarely make it to the Premium Live Events, and for a time, it was hard to remember who was holding the belts.

In a matter of weeks, Triple H set that straight.

It was so easy, it actually boils your blood to think how lazy WWE creative has been for so long. It helps having credible champions, and let's face it, you'd be hard pressed to find more credible champions that Gunther and Bobby Lashley over the past few months. They are both so legit between the ropes that you believe everything they do.

But The Game went one step further. Instead of non-title bouts for a championship opportunity, which instantly makes the champ look like a paper champion if they lose, he just brought back number one contenders matches. If the wrestlers look like they are fighting to earn a shot, then it means more. Then we buy into it more.

Wrestling isn't difficult.

A couple of excellent vignettes re-established the importance of the 'secondary' belts, and some of the matches since then - especially the five-star classic between Sheamus and Gunther - have breathed new life into these titles. So much so, that a megastar like Seth Rollins winning the US Championship this week doesn't feel like a demotion.
