Strictly from an in-ring perspective, Rusev was brilliant. Not once during his match with John Cena did he look like a guy who has only been on the main roster for a year. He was crisp, solid and turned in one of his finest performances to date. After a year of being built up as an unstoppable beast who had yet to be pinned or submitted, he certainly deserved a much better end to his unbeaten streak. Given what WWE Creative is attempting to do with the Bulgarian Brute and Lana, teasing tension and dissension between the two, the finish certainly made sense. But that does not make it any less disappointing for Rusev, who went down to a single Attitude Adjustment on a night when every other major star on the roster kicked out of finishing maneuvers like they were simple clotheslines or something. Surviving a series of finishers and going down to Cena after a second or third A.A. would have been a more suitable way to bring an end to the Bulgarian Brute's impressive and character-defining streak.
