The #GiveDivasAChance movement across social media platforms led to World Wrestling Entertainment taking a step back and reconsidering their treatment of its female performers. Episodes of Raw and SmackDown saw the Bella Twins, Paige and AJ Lee received increased television time and, more importantly, freedom to have a match that was not confined to a three minute window. The March 23 episode of Raw gave fans of women's wrestling hope that things had changed for the better when Nikki Bella defended her Divas title in a match against Paige that lasted 10 minutes. That was not the case, however, as the Divas were stuck in the death slot of the show, the post-concert act that lacked crowd heat and attention from an audience hitting the concession stands and bathrooms in preparation of the night's second half. At only six minutes long, and with booking eerily similar to the match fans saw between the Bellas, Paige and Natalya at the Royal Rumble, the contest failed to carry over the momentum of the previous week, leaving the Divas to suffer the results.
