5. Sheamus Winning The WWE Title

Admittedly, WWE were rushed into making a quickfire decision before Survivor Series. Going down with a serious knee injury, Seth Rollins had to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Title early in November. WWE then set up a tournament, one which was to culminate at Survivor Series. The final ended up being between on screen pals, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. It was Reigns who emerged victorious, but as the confetti fell, he was blindsided. Cashing in his 'Money In The Bank' briefcase, Sheamus became the new WWE Champion as the broadcast went off the air. It's hard for these cash ins not to feel dramatic, because the sudden nature of them demands urgency. Fans routinely respond to them, but they were already sick of Sheamus by the following evening's Monday Night Raw. Less than a full month later, the big Irishman was staring at the lights for Reigns on an episode of Raw. This made his entire title run, and 'Sheamus 5:15' spiel, pretty pointless. Hot-shotting the belt from one wrestler to another, then back to the original man so quickly rarely works. Sheamus is right back where he started, occupying the mid card.
