Sami Zayn is a potential main eventer that might have been higher on this list if he had not suffered the shoulder injury last Spring that forced him to miss more than a half-year of action. Zayn is among the most popular NXT talents on the roster and is a former NXT Champion. Those two facts alone are enough to increase the superstar's chances of being viewed as a future main event superstar by company officials. NXT is in fact the developmental territory for WWE and if the company has enough faith in Zayn to help anchor that brand, they're hope is that he will be able to do the same in due time with the main promotion. Another reason Zayn doesn't rank higher is because while he has been one of the main players in NXT, he hasn't exactly been given the keys to the kingdom. He's had nothing given to him and earned everything he's achieved. That doesn't prevent him from being a future WWE main eventer, but he may have some detractors behind the scenes that will just make the climb to the top that much steeper.
