10 Dream Goldberg Matches In WWE (And How To Book Them)

7. Chris Jericho

The only repeat offender for Goldberg to have to face on this list, the 2016 Jericho is, in every aspect, an enormously better performer than he was in 2003 when they last met.

Jericho is credible enough to offer Goldberg a competitive match and yet still be believably steamrolled in relatively short time.

It would go some way to erasing memories of the deeply unsatisfying encounter the two had thirteen years ago, in which both former World Champions awkwardly plodded through ten minutes of rest holds around an early Goldberg shoulder injury.

The crowd back then, presumably bored and already running out of patience with WWE's presentation of Goldberg, turned on the whole thing and booed Big Bill, marking the first time it was becoming clear that the run may end up a massive disappointment.

As two accomplished performers with a built-in back story (and endless Network footage from both WWE and WCW to support that), this incarnation of Jericho vs Goldberg has so much more going for it.

Y2J could raise the ire of 'Da Man' with his threat of inclusion on the dreaded List, and provide comedy protection for his best friend should Goldberg make a play for the Universal title.
