10 Fantasy WWE Matches That Took Place On Free TV
7. Brock Lesnar Vs. Hulk Hogan (SmackDown, 2002)
In a lot of ways, Brock Lesnar is what Hulk Hogan imagines himself to be when he looks in the mirror: an insanely gifted physical specimen capable of man-handling Andre the Giant, Big Show and Braun Strowman all at the same time.
That's why this was such a dream match. It was a meeting between one of WWE's most dominant mega-stars and a young up-and-comer who would step into the same role (and in many respects do it better) about a decade later.
What's incredible is that Lesnar actually won the bout clean as a whistle, rendering his old-timer opponent unconscious within about eight minutes after trapping him in a bear-hug. That's Hulk Hogan, the same guy who wouldn't lay down for Bret Hart, getting beaten by a 25-year-old.
As with his wins over Undertaker and John Cena, the Beast Incarnate would carry the momentum forward over the months ahead. At SummerSlam the same year, he became the youngest-ever WWE Champion by defeating The Rock. Talk about precocious.
