10 Fascinating WWE Survivor Series 2007 Facts

10. The Event Was Originally Set For Montreal

According to a 2006 corporate filing, the 2007 Survivor Series was originally supposed to take place in Montreal. Chances are you, dear reader, have quickly put the pieces together and determined that the 2007 show would be taking place ten years after the Montreal Screwjob of 1997. You can see why the Vince McMahon-owned company would relish such an idea.

Plans apparently changed by early-2007, as the event was moved to the American Airlines Arena in Miami. WWE Canadian President Carl DeMarco later blamed "routing issues" for why Montreal was de-selected for the event.

It should be noted that two other major pay-per-views in 2007, Royal Rumble and SummerSlam, took place in the same cities that they had been held in 1997 - San Antonio and East Rutherford, respectively. Survivor Series would've followed that trend, and I think we can all assume that McMahon would've somehow made sure we didn't forget what happened there in 1997.
