Usually billed as being the (kayfabe) last student of legendary martial artist and movie star Bruce Lee, Ultimo Dragons moveset combines incredible aerial displays and fluid mat work, with fast paced footwork and blistering martial arts offence that helps him live up to his name. Yoshihiro Asai (yes, as in Asai Moonsault) and his larger-than-life alter ego will be familiar to fans of 90s WCW, where he memorably tied up with cruiserweight stars like Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. Fans of early 2000s WWE, on the other hand, will have seen Dragon plying his trade against Yoshihiro Tajiri and Chavo Guerrero, as well as locking horns with old adversaries Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio once again... Due to his extensive fame in Mexico and Japan, it seems that WWE was reluctant to push Dragon any further than the lower mid card, which is a genuine shame, as many fans were delighted to see Asai perform in a WWE ring. In America, Dragon is beloved by fans of cruiserweight wrestling, but hes hardly a household name. However, in Mexico and especially his native Japan, Asai is one of the most celebrated and decorated wrestlers in the history of the sport. Since adopting the mask and persona of Ultimo Dragon in Mexican promotion CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre), Asai has starred for and held major titles in many global promotions, including AAA (Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion), WAR, NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling), AJPW (All Japan Pro Wrestling) and Michinoku Pro, to name but a few. In fact, so successful is Ultimo Dragon, that he is the only person in the history of professional wrestling to hold 10 Championships all at once, all of which he held for over a year, defending them as and when he was required to.
