During a shoot interview last year, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall told an incredible story about WrestleMania X-8. Both having previous gun charges in Canada, the pair were disallowed from flying into the country. Instead, they had to drive across the border. That wasn't all, because there were real fears that they wouldn't even make it to the event. Looking to take every precaution they could, Vince McMahon and other WWF officials actually gave Hall and Nash tickets to 'Mania. The feeling was that they'd be allowed into the country as visitors, rather than for the purpose of working. That's mind-blowing, because it means Hall's match against Steve Austin very nearly never happened. In the minds of a fair few wrestling fans, it wouldn't have been a tragedy had Hall not made it to the show. The match with Austin was tepid at best, and it was clear Austin himself wasn't enjoying working opposite Scott. Nonetheless, it's fascinating to learn that both Hall and Nash were so close to missing WrestleMania X-8, and were handed tickets for the show.
