10 Live Observations From Attending WWE NXT At Madison Square Garden

8. Same Old Roddy...

After months of speculation and uncertainty, Roderick Strong has finally arrived in WWE. Unfortunately, his debut hasn't been without its setbacks - he was meant to team with Austin Aries in NXT, but an injury to Aries has delayed those plans at the very least. Still, Strong has arrived after many years of honing his craft.

Strong was in action at MSG, taking on No Way Jose in the show's opening match, and any questions as to whether he'd have changed his style or approach were immediately answered. Just a couple of blocks from the Manhattan Center - where "The Messiah of the Backbreaker" had some of his all-time best matches - Strong was firing on all cylinders, wrestling the ultra-athletic style that, up until recently, made him one of the best talents on the U.S. independent scene.

No Way Jose was also looking good, having shown a ton of improvement since his debut, but we've known that for a while now. Their bout was the best of the show's first half, and both guys deserve a ton of credit for not phoning it in.
