10 Live Observations From Attending WWE NXT At Madison Square Garden

7. Lots Of Lackluster Workers

The opener may have been good, but from there, the show took a steep turn for the worse. The next three matches were all boring and felt out of place on what was technically a WWE show at Madison Square Garden.

First up, Liv Morgan and Daria Berenato took on Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. The bout was sloppy and the ending, which saw Berenato take the pinfall, seemed botched. Next came Oney Lorcan versus Elias Samson, and while fans liked Lorcan and he ultimately ended up winning, Samson controlled the majority of the bout. Finally, TM61 scored an upset win over Sanity's Alexander Wolfe and Sawyer Fulton, but were beaten down by the losers after the match.

The problem with NXT, and it's been said many times, is that it's lost in a grey area between a developmental territory and a full-fledged brand. Ostensibly, it's supposed to be a place for inexperienced stars to get better, but with men like Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe, Johnny Gargano, Austin Aries, and Cedric Alexander on top, fans don't see it that way. As a result, the less polished workers really stand out.
