In fairness, Goldust & Booker T must be held up as the biggest anomaly on this list, because they actually made for a pretty awesome unit. Initially, the pair were simply shunted together as one because the writing staff didn't seem to really have much for them individually, which isn't often a recipe for sustained success. Defying the odds brilliantly, Booker and Goldust had unbelievable chemistry together, and couldn't have been more entertaining when working alongside one another. What at first seemed like a sure fire waste of air time led to a near 2-year association, and fans couldn't have been more invested in the comedic segments and underdog mentality of the duo. Oddball pairings seldom work in wrestling, because fans cotton on relatively quickly to the fact that the creative team don't have many ideas for them. That resonates, making it harder for people to actually become interested, but both Booker and Goldust were so terrific together that they remain one of the most notable exceptions to the general rule that random tag-teams don't work.
