2. Jerry Lawler Returns From An On-Air Heart Attack

Shortly before Jerry Lawler's life-threatening heart attack on a September 2012 episode of Raw, the iconic announcer could be heard snoring through his microphone at ringside. Then, he collapsed, and WWE medics had to work on him before a backdrop of gasps and silence from the live crowd.

It was horrific to watch unfold.

Lawler had worked a short tag-team match earlier in the show, but he seemed in fine fettle afterwards. The heart attack was sudden, took everyone by surprise (including Jerry's commentary partner Michael Cole) and left the 'King' hospitalised. He wouldn't return until November, but the fact he did displayed Lawler's passion and bravery.

Without hyperbole, Jerry Lawler almost died that night. As a side note, Cole deserves credit for multi-tasking; he kept the broadcast rolling as best he could whilst calling for aid, and he managed to maintain professionalism when he must have been distraught and fearing the worst.
